DPS Joint Arson Task Force Charge Man with Arson

 

Huntsville, Alabama (January 25, 2008) Huntsville Police along with Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at 120 Mason Court early this morning about 1:30. After putting the fire out Investigators with the Joint Arson Task Force located and questioned Anthony Garrett, age 30, of 2404 Blue Spring Road and charged him with Arson 1^st degree and Burglary 1^st degree.

 

Fire & Rescue Spokesman, Captain Tim Cartwright said when authorities arrived on the scene, they saw smoke coming from the apartment.  Twenty-three-year-old Kimberly Dutton said she and her baby were asleep in the bedroom when the fire started and they escaped to a neighbor’s house. Another neighbor, spotted Garrett trying to climb out of the window, and detained him until Police arrived. Garrett was booked into the Madison County Metro jail. There were no injuries.
