Public Safety Task Force Charge Huntsville Man in Arson Case

 

Huntsville, Alabama (May 9, 2008) Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department and Fire and Rescue Arson Task Force have arrested a man who deliberately set a house on fire May 8, 2008. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said Walter Wesley Brooks, age 22, has been booked into the Madison County Metro Jail for Arson 1^st degree and Criminal Trespass 3^rd degree. Brooks allegedly set fire to a house at 3404 Mastin Lake Road Thursday, after the owner evicted him. The house had been condemned by Huntsville Community Development and boarded up. The two fires were set outside of the house when Huntsville Fire and Rescue arrived about 5:20 a.m. and extinguished the blaze. The damage was minor.
