Promotional Ceremony
Huntsville, Alabama (September 4, 2008) Public Safety Director Rex Reynolds has scheduled a Promotional Ceremony for Thursday, September 4, 2008, at 3:00 pm and will be held in the City Council Chambers located on the first floor of 308 Fountain Circle.
Huntsville Police Chief Henry Reyes announced that he will be filling four very important positions during a promotional ceremony on Thursday. Captain Lewis Morris will be promoted to Deputy Chief of Police, and will take over as Administrative Bureau Commander. The 31- year- police veteran will be responsible for overseeing the Police Academy, Communications, Information Technical Services, Grants and Budgeting, Accreditation, Internal Affairs, Research and Planning, Records, and Fleet Management.
Lieutenant Sherry Jackson will be promoted to the rank of Captain; the 23-year-police veteran will take over as Support Services Division Commander. Sergeant Darryl Lawson a 19-year- police veteran will be promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the West Precinct as a Shift Commander. Officer Stacey Bates with 12 years law enforcement experience will be promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the West Precinct.
All four will assume their new duties effective September 8th. Chief Reyes stated that he is proud of each of the newly promoted commanders who are proven leaders and bring a vast amount of expertise to the Department of Public Safety.
