Timothy Barnes, GISP - GIS Manager

Timothy holds a B.S. degree from the University of North Alabama in Political Science and Geography (Double Major) and a M.S. degree from the University of Alabama in Geography with a concentration in Urban Planning. He has worked in the GIS field since 1984. He was certified as a GIS Professional in July 2007.

Thomas McDonough - GIS Programmer / Analyst II

Thomas holds a B.S. degree from Athens State College in Technical Management / Physics and an M.S. degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in Computer Science. His experience in programming, systems management including CAD / GIS began in 1987. Thomas joined our staff in April 2002.

Steve Perkins - GIS Specialist

Steve holds a B.S. degree from the University of North Alabama in Geography and Sociology (Double Major). He has 12 years experience in GIS software support and product certification. Steve joined our staff in April 2002.

Nally Kaunda, GISP - GIS Analyst II

Nally holds a B.S. degree from West Virginia University in Natural Resource Management and an M.A. degree from West Virginia University in Geographic Information Science. She has worked in the GIS field since 1999. Nally joined our staff in May 2002. She was certified as a GIS Professional in Aug. 2007.

Amy Kenum, GISP - GIS Analyst II

Amy holds a B.S. degree from the University of North Alabama in Professional Geography with a GIS Certificate. Her experience in the GIS field began in 1999. Amy joined our staff in June 2002. She was certified as a GIS Professional in Aug. 2007.

Jack Geren - GIS Programmer / Analyst

Jack holds a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama in Mathematics and an M.A. degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in English. He began his experience in programming and technical management in 1986. Jack joined our staff in April 2007.

Dana Keener, GISP - GIS Analyst

Dana holds a B.S. degree from the University of North Alabama in Professional Geography with a GIS Certificate and a minor in Computer Information Systems. Dana worked as a GIS intern at the City of Huntsville and at NACOLG before becoming a full time member of our staff in June 2004. She was certified as a GIS Professional in Oct. 2007.

Chris Terry - GIS Analyst

Chris holds a B.S. degree from the University of North Alabama in Professional Geography with a GIS Certificate. Chris worked as a GIS Analyst for Magnolia River Services Inc. for 1 1/2 years before joining our staff in June 2008.

Wesley Phillips - GIS Field Project Coordinator

Wes holds a diploma in Geographic Intelligence from the National Imagery and Mapping College. His experience in cartography, terrain analysis, gps and geodetic surveying began when he joined the Marine Corps in 2001. Wes joined our staff in March of 2006.

Marvin Gordon - GIS Graphics Technician

Marvin holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration Management from Alabama A&M University. He has worked as a freelance Graphics Designer and Video Game Developer since 1999 and has extensive experience in CAD, graphic design, animation, DVD development and live event services. Marvin joined our staff after working four years with the City of Huntsville Engineering Division.

Lore Campbell - GIS Planning Technician

Lore is a graduate from Lee High School. She began working for the City of Huntsville in 1984 as a Clerk. In 1989 she completed Interactive Graphics Training and became a GIS digitizer. In 1998 she was promoted to a GIS Planning Technician. She is responsible for digitizing and editing a wide variety of CAD / CAM data.

Shannon Stewart - Secretary I

Shannon is a Grissom High School graduate. She has been employed by The City of Huntsville since 1994. She joined our staff in May 2002 providing assistance to office staff and the public.
   
   
Meet the GPS Staff and Interns 2009  

Nick Balch

Nick graduated from Catholic High School in 2009. He with be starting college at Mississippi State University this fall, majoring in General Engineering. He has been a GPS staff member for 3 summers at the City.

Rachel Cole

Rachel graduated from Sparkman High School in 2006. She is entering her senior year at the University of North Alabama, majoring in Geography with an emphasis in GIS and a minor in CIS. This is her second summer interning in the GIS Dept.

Jamie Lewis

Jamie is a native of Birmingham, AL. She is a senior at Alabama A&M University; she will graduate May of 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Community Planning and Urban Studies with a minor in Marketing, and a concentration in GIS. She plans to obtain her GIS Certification after graduation.

Charles L. Finkley, Jr.

Charles is a 2006 graduate from Robertsdale High School in Baldwin County, AL. He will begin his senior year at A&M University this fall where he is studying Community Planning and Urban Studies with a minor in GIS. After graduation, he plans to continue his studies and earn a Master's degree. This is his first summer with the GIS Dept.

Brian Davis

Brian graduated from Sparkman High School in 2006. He is a student at the University of Alabama in the school of Commerce and Business Adminstration. This is his first summer as a GPS staff member.
