The Dog Spot

The Dog Spot(s) are Huntsville's wonderful, off-leash doggie play areas. They are approximately the size of two football fields and are designed with dog safety in mind - having a divided play area for dogs that are less than 25 pounds.

The rules are posted with the most important rules being associated with pet safety. Dogs must be off leash, at least four months of age with current vaccinations and supervised at all times. Anything that dogs leave behind must be cleaned up immediately by the pet owner. The city has waste stations in both corrals for convenience.

Conveniently located in Huntsville's downtown area, one dog park is on Cleveland Avenue by the skateboard park. Donations are currently being accepted by Animal Services for a watering station at this dog park. Huntsville's newest Dog Spot is located in Creekwood Park, at 360a Harvestwood Ct.

The Dog Spots are open for dogs and their owners during normal park hours - from dawn to one hour after dark, unless otherwise posted
