Seniors Crime Academy Begins March 6th
Huntsville, Alabama (March 4, 2008) Seats are still available for the spring class of the Huntsville Madison County Seniors Crime Prevention Academy which begins Thursday.
Spokesman Wendell Johnson said the Academy still has a few seats left which is held every Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The spring session runs from March 6, 2008 through May 29, 2008. The classes are held at the Public Safety Training Academy located at 3011 Sparkman Drive and it is free to the public.
Johnson said the program is designed to teach people about con games, scam artists, crime prevention, identity theft, gangs, drugs and fire safety and education. The program is sponsored by the Huntsville Police Department, Huntsville Fire & Rescue, Animal Services, the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, the Sheriff’s Department, HEMSI, the Better Business Bureau, the U.S. Postal Service, Emergency Management and the Madison County 911 Center
