Public Safety Arson Task Force Charge Woman for Setting Fire
Huntsville, Alabama (May 22, 2008) Investigators with the Public Safety Arson Task Force have charged a Huntsville woman for deliberately setting fire to her ex boy friend’s laundry room. Public Safety Spokesman Wendell Johnson said Janice Glendoia Ashford, age 28, went to her ex-boyfriend’s house about 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at 3417 B Glen Park Drive. She allegedly broke into the house and set his laundry room on fire. Gerald Ferrell and his son were able to put the fire out before Huntsville Fire & Rescue arrived. Investigators questioned Ferrell and Ashford, and charged her with Arson 1st degree. She was booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. The Joint Arson Task Force is comprised of Investigators by the Huntsville Police Department and the Bureau of Fire Prevention.
