Joint Statement on the Capital Murder Trial Verdict

 

Huntsville, Alabama (June 19, 2008) Huntsville Public Safety Director Rex Reynolds and Police Chief Henry Reyes have released the following statement on the Benito Albarran Murder Trial in which a Madison County Jury found him guilty of the Capital Murder of Officer Daniel Golden.

 

The Huntsville Police Department has remained confident in the District Attorney’s preparation and administration of this case, and today is the result of their work. We must commend our fellow Officers and Investigators who put their grief on hold August 29^th, 2005, and committed themselves to the investigation and documentation that also contributed to today’s verdict. This jury was a reflection of this community that supports law enforcement and the laws of this community. We must now continue to support the Golden family, because today’s verdict does not bring back their son, their husband and our fellow Officer.
