The Freeman Family to Donate Proceeds to Fallen Officers’ Memorial

 

Huntsville, Alabama (January 22, 2008) Huntsville Public Safety Director Rex Reynolds announced today that Leslie Freeman, wife of slain Huntsville Police Officer Eric Freeman wants to give back to the citizens and law enforcement community that have provided prayers and assistance to their family. Reynolds said, “We recently informed the community that Officer Jonathan Sallis was coordinating the sale of Memorial Shirts in honor of Officer Freeman. Initially, proceeds would benefit Eric’s wife and five children. The response from the community has been outstanding and overwhelming from citizens who sincerely want to show their appreciation for Eric’s ultimate sacrifice doing the job he loved.”

 

Now Leslie has indicated that the best way to honor her husband is for all proceeds from the Memorial Shirts go directly to the Huntsville Police Department’s Fallen Officers’ Memorial. In a written statement, Leslie said, “Words cannot express our deep gratitude for the expression of love, support and prayers given from Police Officers, Firefighters, Deputies, religious organizations and individuals from the community. Eric would be proud and humbled and we can think of no better way to honor him, along with Officer Daniel Golden and others who have taken an oath to “To Serve and to Protect”.
