Emergency Public Information
Citizens are responsible for how they are to receive emergency public information, and are responsible for taking the appropriate actions to protect themselves, their families, and others in their care once the information is received. The Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency has immediate contact with the news media and releases emergency public information to them as soon as possible during emergencies, disasters, or other special situations. Citizens are encouraged to monitor radio stations or local television stations for emergency public information such as road closings, school closings, and other information pertinent to the public's safety and well-being. We request that citizens not call the 911 Center, the Emergency Management Agency, or other agencies for this type of information. The public can receive this information from the news media, who broadcasts the information which we issue. Again, do not call 911 unless you have a TRUE EMERGENCY! ------------------------------------------------------- |
