Real Estate
The Real Estate Division is responsible for the acquisition, disposition, and management of real estate properties and programs.
The Real Estate Division is an integral part of the development and improvement to the City's infrastructure. The Real Estate Division is responsible for acquiring the necessary rights-of-way, easements, and property rights required for the successful completion of the City's Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). The Real Estate Division is involved with acquiring the necessary property needed for parks, City facilities, and sanitary sewer projects.
Additional responsibilities of the Real Estate Division include property research related to easements and rights-of-way needed for projects and arranging for a competent independent appraiser to determine the value of properties. The Real Estate Division also provides a set of construction plans for property owners to view in affected areas.
The Real Estate Division has installed a new computer system and sophisticated software package to assist in property acquisition and management. Property Record Information System Manager (PRISM) is a right-of-way mangagement system that will allow the City to develop and maintain an accurate, centralized record of their property rights (easements) and holdings.
