The mission of the City of Huntsville Traffic Engineering Division is to provide for the safe and efficient movement of traffic and pedestrians through the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of traffic control systems. Our staff continually works to upgrade and maintain the traffic control infrastructure at its 300 signalized intersections, 1518 centerline miles of roads,and 3396 lane miles (source: 2007 Public Works Resurfacing List).
