The General Services Department provides the maintenance to more than 200 Buildings/Structures at approximately 150 facilities located through out the City of Huntsville. Our maintenance responsibilities include all facets of facility maintenance including HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding, painting, roofing service, janitorial service, and special event setups.

In addition, we perform maintenance to the athletic and passive parks to include the lighting, fencing, back stops, dugouts, playground equipment, picnic tables, and etc. In-house personnel respond to the daily operational needs of the buildings and perform preventive maintenance on all major building systems.

Some major repairs and facility upgrade work may be accomplished through service contracts with outside firms. General Services also has the responsibility of property insurance coverage.

We strive to make these facilities safe and attractive for local residents and visitors to the Huntsville area. This enhances the pride of the local citizens in our community and reflects the nature and character of the community to visitors.
