Communications Team
Lead Paulakay Lane
Green 13 Role
Paulakay Lane serves as a Communications Strategist of Mayor Battle’s Green 13 Council. Her role as the Communications Strategist Team Lead is to ensure the Green 13 Communications plan provides relevant, accurate, and consistent information to stakeholders and other appropriate audiences by effectively communicating the plan.

Work History/Profession
Paulakay is a 20+ year retired Veteran, she spent 20 years training, motivating and inspiring soldiers to reach beyond their own abilities before she retired. Paulakay is an Industry professional, working alongside more than 1200 engineers, scientist, professional people supporting the Missile Defense Agency. Paulakay currently is Co-Founder of Falcon List, Inc. a Recognition Company designed to Celebrate High Achievement in the workplace.  Paulakay’s mission is to seek to Inspire those who have a choice to chose hard work and persistence to achieve goals not immediately attainable. She started Pony Express Farms, 2001, an equestrian school specializing in equine therapy, that teaches children, autistic/handicapped through structured interactions with horses. Helping them overcome hurdles. She is energetic, enthusiastic and maintains a commitment to making change.

Background Information
2008 Graduate of Darden’s School of Business Executive Education Program.  Co-Authored and patented a new product Inducted into the Women Veterans Hall of Fame on Veterans Day 2003.

Victoria Bell
Green 13 Role
Victoria bell serves as on the Communications Strategy Team of Mayor Battle’s Green 13 Council. Her role is to assist the Green 13 Communications Lead and provide relevant, accurate, and consistent information to stakeholders and other appropriate audiences. By effectively communicating the plan.

Work History/Profession
Victoria now attends Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. She spends much of her free time volunteering. Around her college campus, Victoria has spend many hours volunteering at the recycling center. She took the initiative and came up with sustainable alternatives for her college cafeteria to use. Victoria has spent time working on mangrove restoration at a local bay in Florida. She has spent time in Costa Rica and Africa teaching English, rebuilding homes and schools, reading to children, and helping prevent and educate about AIDS and Malaria. She has also spent a lot of time volunteering for, working with, or is a member of organizations such as Invisible Children and the Nature Conservancy, Defenders of Wildlife, Enough Project, and Genocide Intervention.

Background Information
Victoria went to high school at Randolph in Huntsville, AL. After graduating in 2007, she moved to St. Petersburg, FL where she is a rising junior at Eckerd College. She is working towards a major in Environmental Studies, with an emphasis on marine environments, and a double minor in Biology and Psychology.

Lori Serverin
Green 13 Role
Ms. Severin is a member of Mayor Battle’s Green 13 Council serving on the Communications Team. Ms. Severin has extensive experience in project development, research and multi-disciplinary community planning initiatives. 

 Work History/Profession
Lori Severin is a 1984 Graduate of the University of South Carolina and a 2004 Graduate of North Carolina State University. Today she is a landscape planner and the Sustainability Officer for 4Site, Incorporated, a local consulting firm providing land planning and design services related to site development. Lori has over four years of experience in the area of sustainable land planning and site design with an emphasis on promoting walk-able communities, preserving open space and revitalizing commercial and residential neighborhoods. Her work includes a LEED Gold project, Research Park West, and a LEED Silver project, the Hays Nature Preserve.

Employment with City of Huntsville Moving to Huntsville? Mayor Tommy Battle


The Green 13 Council was commissioned on May 7th, 2009 at Huntsville City Hall Main Auditorium and for the next year will be working on developing an ambitious effort to put City Government on the Path to leave a legacy for future generations of Huntsville Citizens and Americans across the country.
