What's Happening.....   Call Green Team at 53-CLEAN to schedule a campus cleanup.

CLEAN CAMPUS CONTEST Sponsored by OGT and local businesses, this contest is held annually and gives schools the opportunity to do a "clean makeover" on school grounds. This is a popular project that involves student participation and gives everyone involved an increased sense of pride in their school's appearance. The winning schools receive cash prizes to use toward other projects.

For more information or to register your school for this year's contest contact OGT 53-CLEAN or email.

Throughout the year, Operation Green Team (with the help of its mascots) conducts educational lectures at city schools with lessons centering on various waste handling and reduction concepts. The Keep America Beautiful, Inc. organization provides us with excellent curricula entitled Waste in Place, which teaches an integrated approach to the management of municipal waste.  With its secondary component, Waste:  A Hidden Resource, students are taught the sources of municipal waste, the characteristics of this waste, and the various options for handling it.

In addition to the formal curricula, Operation Green Team works regularly with ecology clubs in the school system to organize contests, cleanups, and other special events in conjunction with Earth Day.  With the curricula developed by Keep America Beautiful, Inc. and these hands-on activities, students are instilled with a sense of civic pride as they realize that they can play an active role in keeping their community clean and beautiful.

Remember that educational programs are not restricted to schools.  Operation Green Team will be glad to schedule an appearance or lecture with any church, civic, corporate, or other youth group.   Simply call our office at 53CLEAN or send us an email and find out everything you need to know to Join The Team.
