Huntsville Police Bust Construction Theft Ring
Huntsville, Alabama (March 6 2007) Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department’s West Precinct have charged 3 people with stealing property from home construction sites in Huntsville and Madison County and using the materials to build other homes. Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said 34-year-old Sheri Mae Moss, 555 Executive Drive has been charged with 2 counts of Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree. Forty-four-year old Antone Wayne Folkins of 140 Ervin Lane in Madison has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree and Obstruction of a Criminal Investigation. Additionally, 46-year-old Richards David Iglesias also of 104 Ervin Lane, Madison has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree and Obstruction of a Criminal Investigation. All three have been booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. No bond has been set as of Tuesday afternoon.
Investigator Jerry Trew says the trio allegedly burglarized at least five homes under construction and stole more than $17,000 worth of kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures, ceiling fans, counters, cabinets and flooring. Witnesses saw one of the suspects driving a vehicle from a construction site with stolen materials allegedly still on the truck. Trew said they were rebuilding other houses with stolen items, but fortunately no one purchased the homes yet. Most of the stolen materials from the construction sites have been returned to the contractors. The Investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected. If anyone has information concerning this case, they should contact Investigator Jerry Trew at the West Precinct, 427-5441.
