Huntsville Police Arrest Four In Soccer Ball Melee
Huntsville, Alabama (March 27, 2007) Police and Investigators from the West Precinct worked overnight questioning witnesses and suspects following a soccer ball game that ended with 1 man being shot and two others stabbed. Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said Rufino Valdivia (DOB 02/28/1969) was stabbed multiple times, Jose Soto (DOB 07/20/1980) was cut and Gabriel Carillo (DOB 09/30/1980) was shot in the neck. All three men were transported to Huntsville Hospital by HEMSI. The injuries are not life threatening.
Witnesses say they got into an argument March 19th at the University Place School soccer field. Johnson said when the men came to the field Monday evening, a group of family members attacked the victims with various weapons including guns and knives. Johnson said the following 4 men were arrested overnight and charged with 3 counts each of Attempted Murder. They were booked into the Madison County Metro Jail.

Johnson said warrants for Attempted Murder have been obtained for two other men. Hilario Xancopinca (DOB 10/24/1975) and Gabino Xancopinca (DOB 01/29/1974)
