Huntsville Man Arrested for Internet Child Porn

 

Huntsville, Alabama (April 12, 2007) An ongoing 3 month investigation involving alleged child pornography has led to the arrest of 28-year-old Jeffery Brandon Smith. According to Huntsville Police Investigator Fred Sharp, Marion County Florida authorities contacted Huntsville to serve a search warrant at Smith’s home located at 2326 Colony Drive. The Florida warrant was for Lewd and Lascivious Acts on the Internet with a Child under the Age of 16. Sharp said Huntsville Investigators seized Smith’s computers, discs, cameras and other possible child pornography.

 

As a result of the search in Huntsville, Smith has been charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Child Pornography and booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. His bond has been set at $150,000 according to Marion County Investigator Brian Broughton. Marion County authorities will extradite Smith back to that state to stand trial. He will then be brought back to Huntsville to stand trial on the local charges. Investigator Sharp says the investigation between the two agencies is ongoing and more charges could be filed.
