Huntsville Police Arrest Four For Illegal Copy Right Sales
Huntsville, Alabama (July 12, 2007) A joint investigation between Huntsville Police Officers and the Recording Industry Association of America has led to the arrest of four men selling copyrighted goods from Huntsville area stores. Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said Investigators from RIAA were in Huntsville to identify and target boot-leg Latin American music. Police responded to1222 B Jordan Lane; 1109 Jordan Lane (La No Che Buena store); 2315 C Jordan Lane; 3228 Bob Wallace; 3115 C Drake Avenue (La Favorita store) and confiscated a total of 1,500 illegal copies of DVD’s and music CD’s. Johnson said the investigation also uncovered numerous prescription drugs that were apparently brought in from Mexico and being sold over the counter.
Johnson said the following people were arrested on Tuesday and charged with Illegal Possession, Selling or Renting Recorded devices. Thirty-five-year-old Carlos Quiroz Espino, 42-year-old Francisco Javier Medrano, 40-year-old Vicente Chavez and 33-year-old Jesus Orduna Magueyal were booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
