West Precinct Investigators Arrest Suspect in Double Shooting

 

Huntsville, Alabama (July 18, 2007) Investigators from the West Precinct have arrested the suspect accused of shooting a couple July 14^th while they were in her apartment. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said 29-year-old Omartacus Lawrence Cawthorne was charged with 2 counts of Attempted Murder, Assault 1^st degree and Burglary 1^st degree. He was booked into the Madison County Metro jail on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Johnson said Cawthorne broke into the apartment of 23-year-old Sheena Leslie located at 240 Martin Road about 2:30 Saturday morning. He then shot Leslie and 25-year-old Laquan Bailey, multiple times. They were transported to Huntsville Hospital ER with non-life threatening injuries
