UAH Police and Huntsville Police Capture Construction Site Burglar

 

Huntsville, Alabama (August 14, 2007) For the past several weeks, expensive equipment and high valued tools have been reported stolen at construction sites across Huntsville. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said Huntsville Hospital, the Space and Rocket Center, Martin Luther King Elementary, multiple construction sites in Research Park, and more recently the new Shelby Center Building on the campus of UAH have all be targeted.

 

Johnson said Huntsville Police and UAH Police shared information concerning a green van and possible suspect. Last night, UAH Officers Jeff Kilpatrick and Justin Patterson spotted the vehicle at the Tom Bevill Conference Center. As they attempted to question 32-year-old Christopher Shane Anagnos, he ran into the nearby woods. Huntsville Police set up a parameter, and K-9 tracking dogs were called in and police caught Anagnos who lives in Gurley. This morning he was booked into the Madison County Metro Jail charged with three counts of Theft 2^nd degree and one count of Theft 1^st degree. Johnson said additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
