STAC Team Shuts Down Major Drug Trafficking Ring
Huntsville, Alabama (August 31, 2007) On August 30, 2007 Agents of the Madison-Morgan County Strategic Counter Drug Team concluded a six month investigation that shut down a major drug trafficking ring operating in Huntsville and Madison County.
Huntsville Police Chief Henry Reyes said Agents served search warrants at three Huntsville locations and confiscated 6 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of approximately $750,000 and seized $240,000 in cash. Agents also seized weapons, vehicles and other items used for drug trafficking. Reyes said search warrants were executed at 2706 Warrior Street, 2501 Oakwood Avenue #5 (G’s Country Kitchen) and 305 Sunny Dell Road.
Maurice Russell, age 45, of Warrior Street was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine. He was booked into the Madison County Metro Jail with a bond of $1.5 million dollars. His wife, Greta Hampton Russell, 42-years-old was also charged with Trafficking in Cocaine with a bond set at $200,000. Jimmy Fletcher, age 32, of 2810 Barber Drive is charged with Possession of Marijuana. His bond is set at $500.00. All three people were booked into the Madison County Metro Jail.
