Huntsville Police Announce Trail of Tears Road Closings

 

Huntsville, Alabama (September 15, 2007) Huntsville Police are prepared for the Annual Trail of Tears bike ride this Saturday, September 15th. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said the on ramps will be closed West bound on I-565 from Mooresmill Road to Madison Blvd.

 

Police will close on ramps to I-565 westbound from 9:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  Madison Blvd will be closed from Huntsville into Madison West bound. The Trail of Tears will stop in Madison and leave at 11:30 a.m. heading West on Madison Blvd, North of County Line Road and West on Highway 72.

 

Johnson added that motorist should be extra careful throughout the day because bikers will be entering and exiting gas stations and restaurants, sometimes in large numbers.
