Huntsville Police Arrest Two People in Home Invasion

 

Huntsville, Alabama (October 4, 2007) Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department’s West Precinct have charged two people in a home-invasion style robbery that occurred Tuesday on Pine Avenue. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said the man and woman claimed that their vehicle broke down and needed to use the phone. When the homeowners agreed, the suspects forced their way into the home at gunpoint. A good vehicle description was given by the victims and witnesses and broadcast over police radio.

 

On Wednesday, Sgt. Brent Thatcher of the South Precinct alertly spotted the vehicle in a parking lot on South Memorial Parkway and the occupants who matched the description of the suspects. Both were arrested and booked into the Madison County Metro Jail.

 

William Howard Shager, age 23, of 510 Whelch Drive in Athens and Jana Denise Earls, age 27, of 3506 Fairview Street were both charged with two counts of Robbery 1^st degree and one count of Possession of Cocaine. Both remain in the Metro Jail awaiting bond.
