Huntsville Police Charge Homeless Man with Home Burglaries

 

Huntsville, Alabama (October 13, 2007) Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department’s North and South Precincts have arrested and charged 49-year-old Valentino Martin of Huntsville in a string of residential burglaries from several neighborhoods. Police Chief Henry Reyes identified the areas of Blossomwood, Five Points, Old Towne and the East area of Oakwood Avenue.

 

Martin has assisted Investigators in recovering property taken in several burglaries and they are in the process of notifying the victims to pick up their stolen items. Reyes said so far at least 25 homes have been identified and the investigation is ongoing. There may be numerous burglary cases that Martin may be linked to as a suspect. Investigators will review a number of unsolved burglaries to determine if Martin may be involved. Property that has been recovered so far includes handguns, jewelry, musical instruments, money, cell phones and radios. Martin has been booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. He is currently charged with two counts of Burglary and 1 count Receiving Stolen Property
