Information between Sheriff Deputies And Police Lead to Robbery Arrests
Huntsville, Alabama (November 14, 2007) Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department’s West Precinct have arrested and charged three suspects with a series of robberies thanks to information from the Madison County Sheriff Department’s Narcotics Unit. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said on Tuesday, November 13th, Investigators from the West Precinct acting on a tip from the Sheriff’s Department made arrests in two separate robberies.
Spokesman Wendell Johnson said three suspects were charged in connection with the November 5th robbery of the Shell Food Mart located at 6150 University Drive. Matthew Robert Porter, age 18, of 289 Springhill Road, Madison was charged with two counts of Robbery 1st degree and one count of Theft of Property 1st degree. Charles Andre White, age 17, of 5515 Oakwood Road was charged with Robbery 1st degree. Seventeen-year-old Darius Nehemiah Andrews, 103 English Elm Drive in Harvest was charged with Robbery 1st degree. Porter was charged with Monday night’s robbery to an individual in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 6140 University Drive. Porter was also charged with Auto Theft for allegedly stealing a Volkswagen/Audi from Jeff Sikes on University Drive. All three suspects were booked into the Madison County Metro Jail as adults.
Johnson added that additional robbery charges are pending involving investigations from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
