Huntsville Police Close Downtown Streets for Training

 

Huntsville, Alabama (February 8, 2007) The United States Army, Redstone Technical Test Center (RTTC), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and Textron Systems Corporation (TSC) Wilmington, Massachusetts, will be conducting a simulation test in downtown Huntsville on Saturday, February 10, and Sunday, February 11, 2007, from approximately 3:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. In accordance with permission granted by Mayor Loretta Spencer and the City Council, it is asked that citizens please cooperate with the Huntsville Police Department concerning its restrictions and barricades during its street closings. HPD will begin setting up at 1:00 a.m. The streets included are: Washington Street and Jefferson from Meridian to South Side Square and all streets in between.

The Department has started to notify business owners, employees, patrons, and other citizens in the downtown area of the restrictions for traffic.
