Christmas Prayers with a Cop

Huntsville, Alabama (December 15, 2008) The Fraternal Order of Police T.L. Blakemore Lodge # 6,  WAY-FM Christian Radio Station, and Wal-Mart, 2200 Sparkman Drive, have teamed up to help out a group of local families for Christmas.  The event is called Christmas Prayers with a Cop and will take place at Wal-Mart on Sparkman Drive Thursday, December 18, at 10:30 a.m.  The Fraternal Order of Police began the program to identify and assist some families in the area whose children may be without a Christmas due to financial hardships.  The immediate concern was how to locate and identify those families in need.  The Lodge then partnered with WAY-FM because they had a program called Christmas Prayers that could find those families.  Money is donated by the Fraternal Order of Police and gift cards are purchased from Wal-Mart.  The selected families will meet local law enforcement officers at Wal-Mart to receive their gifts.  The program has been in place for 6 years and continues to grow.
