Five People Arrested in Two Separate Department Store Robberies

 

Huntsville, Alabama (January 13, 2008) At 12 noon Saturday, two suspects were stopped by store security for shoplifting at Target’s located at 6275 University Drive. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said both suspects began to fight with security and escaped in a yellow Lancer. West Huntsville Police Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Sparkman Drive when the driver lost control and struck a sign trying to drive into the Mars apartments. Both occupants fled on foot and were arrested by Police and booked into the Madison County Metro jail. Johnson said Joshua Ray Weaver, age 22 of 1254 Hobbs Island Road and Asa Cody Whisenant, age 25,  5183 Diamond Circle were both charged with Robbery 2^nd degree.

 

A second robbery took place about 8:00 p.m. at Sears located at 5901 University Drive. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said three people allegedly stole items of jewelry when store security attempted to stop them. Huntsville Police arrived as the suspects were fighting with security personnel trying to escape. The following three suspects were arrested and booked into the Madison County Metro jail on Robbery 2^nd degree.

 

Lisa Lynnette Chadwick, age 37, of 115 Jackie Street, Albertville, Al; Joshua David Lacey, age 28, of 1100 Marvin Pearce Road, Boaz, Al; and thirty-six-year old Melia Paige Lacey of 1100 Marvin Pearce Road, Boaz, Alabama.
