Off-Duty Sheriff’s Deputy Arrests Two Purse Snatchers

 

Huntsville, Alabama (February 19, 2008) Two Huntsville men are in the Madison County Metro Jail thanks to Sheriff’s Deputy Morris Collick Jr. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said Deputy Collick witnessed two men about 7:00 last night when they allegedly snatched a woman’s purse in the parking lot of Home Depot located at 1035 North Memorial Parkway.

 

Collick detained the 1995 Olds Cutlass in the parking lot until Huntsville Police arrived. Walter Lamar Sales, age 21, was charged with Theft of Property 1^st degree and Carrying a Pistol in a Vehicle without a Permit. Twenty-three-year-old Brian Lopez Kellum was also charged with Theft of Property 1^st degree. A third unidentified suspect fled the area on foot before Police arrived.
