Joint Fugitive Task Force Arrests Suspect in Jefferson County
Huntsville, Alabama (April 15, 2008) Investigators with Huntsville Police Department and the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrested a Huntsville man yesterday, wanted for Sodomy 1st degree involving a 5-year-old boy. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said 33-year-old Jason Douglas McCrary was picked up in Jefferson County and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. He is being detained on Sodomy 1st degree, Theft of Property 2nd degree and two counts of Illegal Possession and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card 1st degree. Huntsville Police will transport him back to the Madison County Metro Jail. McCrary’s location was discovered after a lengthy investigation.
Johnson said the United States Marshal’s Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force along with Huntsville Police have been working together since last month, although the Fugitive Task Force has been working in Alabama and Mississippi for over a year. The Task Force’s main priority is to find and arrest fugitives at large.
