Huntsville Records its 14th Traffic Fatality 

  

Huntsville, Alabama (July 25, 2008) Huntsville recorded its 14th traffic fatality of the year, early this morning, when 60 year old Minnie Major of Louisville, Kentucky was killed in a head on collision. Major and her son were traveling southbound on Alabama Highway 53 near Douglas Road when their PT Cruiser was struck head-on by a northbound Chrysler Sebring driven by Carlton Shook of Toney, Alabama. Investigators reported Shook was intoxicated and crossed the center line into the southbound lane. Although he was treated and released into the custody of Huntsville Police, both his passenger and Ms. Major’s son remained in the hospital. Shook was charged with Manslaughter and is currently in the Madison County Jail.
