Huntsville Police Release More Details in Recent Shootings
Huntsville, Alabama (December 14, 2006) Huntsville Police announced the names of individuals recently involved in two separate shooting incidents.
Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said today that 23-year-old Benjamin Brown is the man called “The Good Samaritan”, was involved in a shooting on Jordan Lane January 30th. Brown observed a man chasing and shooting at another man, when he confronted the individual, the man turned toward Brown and Brown shot and killed him. The case will be presented to a Madison County Grand jury.
In another case, Investigators have notified the family of Oscar Rodriquez (DOB 07/15/1982) of 3815 West Wind Circle, that he was the passenger in a vehicle when police shot and killed the driver on December 3, 2006. The incident took place in the LaBamba Mexican Restaurant parking lot at 3707 Governors Drive. Johnson said an Incident Review Board will hear testimony in reference to the use of deadly force and determine if the two Huntsville Officers followed departmental policy.
