Hit and Run Suspect Sought Now that Murder Suspect is Booked
Huntsville, Alabama (February 2, 2006) Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said 37-year-old Leon Michael Jolly was picked up by Huntsville Police in the Norwood Housing area before 11:00 a.m. this morning.
An individual spotted Jolly, contacted police, and he was arrested and booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. No bond has been set yet. Jolly is Hardy’s boyfriend. Family members discovered the 47-year-old woman’s body in a bedroom closet Wednesday evening at 303 South Plymouth Road. Johnson said the cause of death has not been released pending the results of an autopsy report.
Meanwhile, Investigators have released a picture of a vehicle that looks similar to the one involved in a hit and run last night. Johnson said Jerry Ross Vanvoorhis a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross the Parkway between Oakwood Avenue and Arcadia Drive. Johnson said Police are looking for a Ford Taurus, a model between 2002 and 2005. The vehicle is a bright Maroon or red in color. Based upon preliminary investigation, the vehicle should be missing the right passenger door mirror. Anyone with information concerning this hit and run should contact Investigators at 722-7100. (We do not have an age or address for the victim)
