Huntsville Police Shut Down Meth Lab at Local Motel
Huntsville, Alabama (March 29, 2006) Huntsville Police Investigators went to talk with a man about a stolen car and discovered a Meth Lab early this morning. Deputy STAC Team Commander Jim Williams said Investigators arrived at room 119 Southland Motel on Governor’s Drive to speak to an individual who reported having his car stolen. When they made contact with 37-year-old Richard ShaneYoung of Huntsville to retrieve some additional paperwork, he fled the scene on foot.
Williams said Investigators then contacted two other men in the hotel room and noticed drug paraphernalia consistent with a clandestine drug lab. The STAC Team was notified, obtained a search warrant and discovered a complete lab, but it was not active. Williams indicated that it appeared the men were either setting up the Meth lab or breaking it down.
Charged with Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree is 23-year-old James Merril Beasley of Ardmore, Alabama and 30-year-old Christopher Lanny Pressnel of Huntsville. Both men were booked into the Madison County Metro Jail. Richard Young is being sought by Investigators who will obtain a warrant for his arrest. DEA has a cleanup service from Marion County, Tennessee that will arrive this evening to dispose of the chemicals.
