                                   Huntsville Police Checkpoints Net 17 DUI Arrests

 

Huntsville, Alabama (July 5, 2005) The Huntsville Police Department’s DUI Task Force and Uniform Patrol arrested 17 people for driving under the influence, three of those individuals were under the age of 21. Sgt. Juan Joyner, DUI Task Force Supervisor says they issued 56 traffic citations and had 10 vehicle impoundments. Last year during the Fourth of July weekend, the Department made 24 DUI arrests, four under the age of 21. The checkpoints started Friday, July 1, 2005 and ran thru Monday, July 5, 2005.
