Authorities Charge Juvenile
In Golf Course Bridge Bombing
Huntsville, Alabama (July 6, 2005) Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department’s South Precinct in cooperation with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have charged a 17-year-old juvenile with Criminal Possession of Explosives, a class c felony. Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said the male juvenile allegedly used an improvised explosive device to detonate a wooden bridge in the early morning hours at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Hampton Cove. Authorities would not elaborate as to what type of explosives or device was used. Johnson said the incident occurred on June 24th. The alleged offender apparently acted alone according to Johnson. The juvenile has been processed into the Robert Neeves Center for Children. (The “D” Home)
