North Precinct Investigators Arrest Robbery Suspect
Huntsville, Alabama (July 28, 2006) Huntsville Police say they have arrested the man who allegedly robbed a 64-year-old woman in a supermarket parking lot July 26th. Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said 50-year-old Torris Coolidge Brooks is in the Madison County Metro Jail and charged in connection with two separate incidents. He’s charged with Robbery First Degree and Burglary First Degree when he allegedly grabbed the car keys out of the woman’s hands while she was placing groceries inside of her car. He took her 1998 Dodge Ram, purse, money and credits cards.
Johnson said on July 24th Brooks, allegedly ran into a woman’s home stole her purse and car keys while she was standing in the front yard. When the woman began to scream for help, he ran. Brooks is being charged with Robbery First Degree and Theft First Degree in connection with that case. He is currently in the Metro Jail charged with Possession of Stolen Credit Cards.
