STAC Team Confiscates 152 Pounds of Marijuana
Huntsville, Alabama (August 17, 2005) The results of a seven month long drug investigation across the Tennessee Valley has shut down a major Mexico to Alabama drug trafficking ring. Investigators with the Madison/Morgan County STAC Team, along with Decatur Organized Crime Unit and the Morgan County Drug Task Force served warrants on three locations that led to 152 pounds of high grade Marijuana being confiscated.
Commander Gerry Norris said they served warrants at 2006 Flagstone Drive, Madison, a self-storage facility at 8036 Madison Blvd, and at 914 Wildwood Road in Decatur. Norris said along with the 152 pounds of marijuana, agents confiscated large quantities of cocaine and several thousand dollars in cash. Thirty-five-year old Derrick Venord Menefield and 18-year-old Nica Siddett Cameron were charged with Trafficking in Cannabis. Menefield, who had a loaded .45 caliber handgun, was also charged with Possession of Cocaine. Norris believes its one of the largest pot seizures made by The STAC Team.
