Commanded by Captain Sherry Jackson, the Records Division maintains criminal history files on anyone arrested by the department, with a current total of 145,800 files. These records must be maintained for 100 years or until the death of the person. In addition, the section maintains all traffic accident reports (approximately 12,000 per year) and all crime reports, which number more than 24,000 a year and 18,000 arrest reports. The Records Division is open to the public:  

Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
