The fleet management unit is responsible for all vehicle maintenance. This includes the purchase of new vehicles, installation of all required equipment from emergency light bars, sirens, voice and data radios, mobile computers, AVLs (Automatic Vehicle Locators), protective cages, etc.   In addition, any repairs to vehicles are tracked by fleet through the city maintenance shop in order to provide all sworn officers with a vehicle needed to perform their police function.
