GOAL:  Reduce the threat of violence in all of our city’s public schools.

STRATEGIES:

1.                  Add six School Resource Officers to the SRO Program to work in Middle Schools.    Responsibility:  Chief of Police.

2.                  Secure a set of plans for all public schools; conduct tactical training in schools; develop an overall response plan for school violence.   

3.                  Identify dangerous juveniles who pose a real threat to the safety of others in school.  Work with the School System, District Attorney’s Office and Courts to remove those children from public schools.  Target Date: Ongoing.  Responsibility:  SHOCAP Team, Special Services Bureau Commander.
