Aquatic

The City of Huntsville Recreation Services Division offers three public indoor swimming facilities. All City of Huntsville swimming facilities have certified lifeguards. Please call the facility for specific information on hours, programs, and prices.


The Brahan Spring Natatorium is one of the finest indoor-outdoor swimming facilities in the nation. Amenities include shower and locker rooms, a sundeck and a motorized roof that can be rolled back on warm days. The Natatorium swimming pool is 50 meters long by 25 yards wide, and features two three-meter and two one-meter Maxi-Flex diving boards. Pool water temperature is maintained at approximately 82 degrees. Public swimming sessions are available year-round for persons interested in recreational swimming, lap swimming and springboard diving. Water Aerobics classes are also available.



February 3 - 5 (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday)
On Friday February 3rd, the Natatorium will CLOSE at 2:00 p.m. and remain closed through Sunday February 5th for the H.S.A. Groundhog Invitational Swim Meet.
Diving boards will not be open at all on Friday February 3rd due to setup for the swim meet.




The Jim Williams Aquatic Center is a public pool where the water temperature is maintained at approximately 90 degrees. Furthermore, the facility is totally accessible for the disabled. These features provide an ideal environment for conducting various programs such as water aerobics and aquatic exercise, as well as Red Cross Swim Classes which are offered year-round for all age and skill levels.

The Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Pool is the City’s newest public facility. This facility offers a wide variety of American Red Cross swimming and educational classes including Lifeguard Training. The pool features 2 one meter Durafirm diving boards and is accessible by hydraulic chair lift. The pool water is a comfortable 84-85 degrees. Dr. Richard Showers, Sr. Pool is completely enclosed and has a climate control system for the year round comfort of the swimmer.
