To report a wastewater emergency during normal
business hours, call WPC at (256)

After normal business hours, call the
Huntsville
Police Department at (256) 722-7100.
Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. Monday thru Friday, except on City-observed holidays.
What IS a wastewater
emergency?

sewage overflowing
from a manhole or pipe

visibly broken or
damaged pipe or access manhole

cover missing from a
manhole

alarm sounding/
light flashing at a wastewater pumping station or grinder pump

pipe damaged while
digging
What IS NOT a wastewater
emergency?

slow-draining
bathtub
(this is usually caused by blockage in the "lateral" pipe on private property, and is the
owner's responsibility - call a plumber for assistance)

water seen leaking
from a potable water (drinking water) supply pipe

billing
